
The Detroit Pistons pulled off a dominant win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals, with a 111-101 final score in downtown Detroit.
Pistons star Cade Cunningham led the team with 23 points and seven assists in the opening win, and while he was all smiles after the game, he also had a serious message: Detroit needs to do this again.
"It's one win, and we've got to come back and do it again," he said after the game.
He also commented on the team's strong defense, stating that they "feel great."
"Got to protect home court, we didn't do that last series so we know it's important this series."

"We have a great system in place, so just play to your strengths, but just give effort and put it all out there, and you got somebody behind you that will come in for you whenever you're tired. So, we've got a great culture going," he said.
Aside from Cunningham, Tobias Harris notched 20 points and eight rebounds, Duncan Robinson clocked 19 points and made five three-pointers and Jalen Duren made a strong impact late in the game. After James Harden tied the matchup at 93, Duren scored six straight points to help the Pistons pull ahead. He had with 11 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and two blocks in the showdown.
Ausar Thompson had 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists and his twin brother, Houston Rockets star Amen Thompson, was there, watching from the sideline.
On the Cleveland Cavaliers' side, Donovan Mitchell led the team with 23 points, seven assists and six rebounds.
Game 2 is Thursday night back in Detroit at Little Caesar's Arena. Expect another action-packed showdown.
