Michigan player says he felt 'disrespected' by Ohio State football coach Ryan Day

The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes rivalry is as old as time, and every time the season roll around, no matter if it's football, basketball or another sport, fans always circle the Michigan vs. Ohio State matchups on their calendar.

Both the Ohio State and Michigan football teams are among the most celebrated in college sports. So, it makes sense that any budding player would want to get on either squad in college.

One of the newest members of the Michigan football team revealed that he felt slighted by Ohio State head football coach Ryan Day.

New Michigan Wolverine felt 'disrespected' by Ohio State

Michigan freshman running back Jonathan Brown is happy to be on the Wolverines' squad, but he revealed that he felt "disrespected" after not getting an offer from Ohio State. He attended St. Francis DeSales High School with Day's son, which made the whole thing more personal.

During an appearance on Coaches Corner with John McCallister, Brown opened up about his feelings about Day and Ohio State when he didn't get an offer to join their team.

"I would say it wasn't disappointing. I felt more disrespected, because I knew Coach Day personally, and we had conversations," he said on the show. "But, yeah, I felt disrespected."

Out of high school, Brown was a three-star recruit, so he may just have been not quite strong enough as a player to get that attention that he wanted from the Buckeyes. But, that doesn't mean he can't grow into a fantastic player under the leadership of the Wolverines. Regardless, he obviously thought he earned at least some attention from Day, especially since he played with Day's son. Now, he'll head to Michigan with an extra chip on his shoulder when they take on Ohio State, and having something to prove certainly isn't a bad thing, especially in a rivalry.
