LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers are down 2-0 in their Western Conference semifinal series against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
On Thursday, the Lakers fell 125-107 in Game 2, and they're learning the tough lesson that without star guard Luka Doncic, they're going to have an uphill battle in the postseason.
James notched 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting with six assists during the game, according to NBA research, so it was a solid showing, despite the lopsided loss.
Amid the Lakers' postseason turmoil, WNBA star Caitlin Clark is opening up about her friendship with James. In a new interview with ESPN's Malika Andrews, Clark said that James is one of the few people she knows who truly understands the pressure of being one of the top sports figures in a generation.
Clark and James have both had their share of injuries, even though Clark is decades younger than James. Last season, she was only able to play 13 games in the WNBA due to injury and missed the Fever's playoff run.
Through the ups and downs, Clark said that James has supported her. He can relate, and that's something they have in common.
"I think LeBron has been there to support me more than anything," Clark said. "He understands the microscope that I'm under and the spotlight that's on me."
Clark also said that after getting injured last season, James reached out to see if she needed any help. He was there to help her get through the tough situation.
Today, believe it or not, Clark says their conversations are more about golf than basketball.
"We text about golf," Clark said. "That's next on our bucket list, to play golf together."
If these two ever hit the golf course together, they'll likely draw tons of media attention.
James and the Lakers head into Game 3 against the Thunder on Saturday.
