The Atlanta Dream kicked off the Angel Reese era with a dominant performance.
The former Chicago Sky draft pick made an immediate impact for her new team, breaking a long-standing record held by one of the league's historic players.
By dropping 11 points and grabbing 14 rebounds, the LSU product logged her 50th career double-double.
She needed just 65 games to reach that milestone, surpassing Tina Charles for the fastest player in WNBA history to get 50 double-doubles.
To put in context just how dominant Reese has been on the glass, she accomplished that milestone in 10 fewer games than her predecessor.
Notably, this happened just days after Charles announced her retirement from the league after 14 seasons.
The future Hall of Famer left the game as the all-time leader in field goals (3,364) and rebounds (4,262), while also being second in total points (8,396).
As for Reese, she already had her first signature moment in a Dream uniform.
Her team grabbed the lead for the first time in the game with just 12 seconds to go, thanks to a pull-up jump shot from Te-Hina Paopao.
Then, Reese recorded the game-saving block on Emese Hof's potential game-winning layup as the clock expired.
Reese played 32 minutes and added two assists, two steals and three blocks to their stat sheet, giving Dream fans a glimpse of what's to come.
Now, the Dream will take their 1-0 record to the road to meet Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings on May 12.
