Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream are off to a hot start this season. They are 2-0 and have made it clear to the rest of the competition that they will contend for a postseason berth. The 6-foot-3 forward has also recorded back-to-back double-doubles.

The Dream acquired Reese on April 6 from the Chicago Sky via a blockbuster trade. They will rely on her to lead the team back to the playoffs after the team was eliminated in the first round by the Indiana Fever last year. The two-time All-Star, along with Allisha Gray, is expected to do the heavy lifting for Atlanta.

Reese started the season with 11 points, 14 rebounds, two steals and three blocks on Saturday. She followed it up with a 12-point, 16-rebound performance three days later.

Angel Reese’s Instagram story after Dream win over Wings

Atlanta defeated Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings 77-72 on Tuesday. The team achieved its second consecutive road victory and will head home for a three-game homestand with an undefeated record.

On her Instagram story, Reese made sure to send a strong message after the game.

“2-0. ROAD KILLS,” Reese wrote, sharing a post from the Dream announcing the win.

The 24-year-old led the WNBA in rebounds per game over the last two seasons. She has been one of the league’s brightest stars since she was drafted at No. 3 in 2024 out of LSU. Reese has also helped grow the WNBA’s popularity through her playing style and off-court activities.

The Dream will face a big test on Sunday when they take on the Las Vegas Aces. A’ja Wilson and Co. are widely considered one of the favorites to win the championship again this season. The four-time MVP will challenge Reese’s defense and aims to secure three wins in a row for her team.

A win for Atlanta would give them the perfect start at home this year. It would also send shockwaves around the league, proving that they are for real. The matchup is set for 1:30 p.m. ET at State Farm Arena, and NBC will broadcast it live.
