With the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder waiting in round three, the Spurs will now try to reach the franchise's first NBA Finals since 2014. San Antonio won four out of five matchups with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and the Thunder during the regular season.
But when it comes to facing a Thunder team that's currently 8-0 in the playoffs, what happened during the regular season doesn't matter. To their credit, the Spurs are at their best as they head towards their toughest test yet against Oklahoma City. San Antonio has won back-to-back games in blowout fashion, including a 126-97 win over the Timberwolves on Tuesday.
The latest chapter in the Spurs and Thunder's budding rivalry is set to tip off on Monday at 8:30 pm ET.
