Happy 30th birthday to one-time Pro Bowl quarterback and seven-year NFL veteran, Gardner “Mustache,” Minshew II!

Minshew was a sixth-round selection by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2019 NFL Draft, and he was thrust into the starting role after a season-ending injury to Nick Foles. Rocking his long hair and powerful mustache, Minshew quickly became a fan-favorite around the NFL for his combination of personality and his exciting playing style. 

Starting 12 games as a rookie, Minshew went 6-6 for Jacksonville while throwing for 3,271 yards and a Jags-rookie-record 21 touchdowns. Minshew Mania came crashing down in 2020, when he went 1-7 in eight starts, and he wouldn’t start double-digit games again until 2023. There he started 13 contests, going 7-6 and making his lone Pro Bowl appearance of his career. 

Since then, he’s had stints in Las Vegas and Kansas City. This year he’s with the Arizona Cardinals, where he’s expected to backup Jacoby Brissett and help mold rookie Carson Beck.
