Daulton Varsho becoming a bright spot in Blue Jays' lineup

Despite the struggles the Toronto Blue Jays have been experiencing, Daulton Varsho's recent success has given Blue Jays fans something to smile about.

His walk-off grand slam provided the Blue Jays with a much-needed 5-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday. His late-game production came in handy again on Saturday afternoon.

His RBI single in the 10th inning ended up being the game-winning run as the Blue Jays went on to secure a 2-1 lead and beat the Detroit Tigers

With the lack of offense from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and George Springer, someone has had to step up. Even in the recent games that the Blue Jays haven't won, Varsho has been coming up with hits, but the team hasn't been able to cash him in.

Daulton Varsho could be on the rise

In Varsho's last seven games, he's batted .333 with a home run, five RBI and nine hits. He's been one of the more consistent hitters in a lineup that's struggled to provide consistent offense.

While Varsho is not known for having a high batting average, his average currently sits at .253, which is a major improvement from his .214 batting average in 2024.

His recent offensive surge has demonstrated clutch hitting that has helped change the outcome of games. His five home runs across the first 40+ games have him on pace to hit close to 30 home runs.

If he's able to maintain the pace he's at, he's in a good position for a breakout season. Varsho has never hit 30 in a season, but it's an achievable milestone for a player who will become a free agent following this season.
