Micah Parsons' injury may force Packers to make desperate move

The Green Bay Packers might be without their best player for the first month of the season.

Micah Parsons suffered an ACL injury late in the 2025 season, and even though he's right on track in his recovery, he may have to start the season on the PUP list.

As such, Bill Huber of Sports Illustrated believes Matt LaFleur's team must add another pass rusher to the mix.

Moreover, given his ties to new defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon, the Packers should consider making a run at Haason Reddick.

The Packers should consider signing Haason Reddick

“The Packers pounced on another of Gannon’s former starters, defensive lineman Javon Hargrave, in free agency. Adding Reddick would make sense, whether it’s now or a repeat of June 2021, when they signed linebacker De’Vondre Campbell at the start of minicamp,” Huber argued

Of course, Reddick is no longer the top-notch headhunter he used to be. He's coming off two quiet seasons, and he's unlikely to flirt with double-digit sacks anymore.

That said, he's already familiar with Gannon's system, and he could give the Packers another bona fide option behind the inconsistent Lukas Van Ness once Parsons is ready to return.

Spotrac projects Reddick's salary at just $4.9 million per year. That works just fine for a Packers team that doesn't have the financial flexibility to make a big-name addition.

Injuries derailed the Packers' once-promising campaign in 2025, and they must address their depth needs in what could be a make-or-break season for coach LaFleur.
