The Washington Commanders pulled the plug on the Deebo Samuel experiment after just one season.
However, the former San Francisco 49ers star was actually one of the few bright spots in their disappointing offense. Contrary to public perception, Samuel managed to stay healthy and in good shape for the whole season. Of course, his numbers would've been better with a healthy Jayden Daniels.
Considering that, Alex Kay of Bleacher Report believes it should be just a matter of time before the versatile weapon puts pen to paper and gets a new deal.
"Any team seeking a versatile weapon who can line up at multiple offensive positions, as well as contribute on special teams, should have interest in Samuel," Kay wrote. "Potential Landing Spots: Indianapolis Colts, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots."
The Colts could certainly use another weapon. They lost Michael Pittman Jr. to make room for Alec Pierce's big contract, and they didn't add any suitable replacement.
The Vikings might be a bit too stacked now, with Jauan Jennings joining Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. Then again, you can never have too many weapons in the stacked NFC North.
As for the Patriots, they signed Romeo Doubs to replace Stefon Diggs and are more than likely to acquire A.J. Brown. Still, they're fresh off a Super Bowl loss and could make room for another savvy playmaker.
Samuel may no longer be the prime dual-threat guy he was in his heyday, but he can still pile up yards after the catch like the best of them. If the money makes sense, he'd be an upgrade for almost every offense.
