Following another disappointing season, the Miami Dolphins cleaned house and parted ways with most of their stars, including Tyreek Hill.
Once considered one of the most dangerous players in the game, Hill's age and off-the-field distractions took a toll on his market value. However, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero believes there's an even bigger concern about the former Super Bowl champion.
Given his delicate season-ending injury, NFL teams reportedly doubt he can withstand the wear and tear of a full season.
"The issue with Tyreek is we truly don’t know will he be healthy enough to play right," Pelissero said on "The Rich Eisen Show." "Forget Week 1, I’m talking about all of 2026. That was a severe knee injury, which is why Miami really didn’t have a choice but to cut him loose."
Per Pelissero, there's still a chance he will find a new home at some point. However, given the apparent lack of interest in his services, teams may still not know whether he's back to full strength.
"I do believe Tyreek will have interest when he’s healthy, it’s just not yet clear if he’s anywhere close enough to health in August, September for someone to sign him or are we talking about is this like Odell some years ago where we were really into November and December before we could even talk about is this guy going to be ready to help a team this season," Pelissero added.
The Chiefs could certainly use another pass-catcher, and he would be a seamless fit, given his familiarity with head coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. Rashee Rice's latest scandal also makes him a no-brainer addition, provided he's healthy. Even so, for a player who relied so much on his speed, this injury might be career-altering.
