The Green Bay Packers made one of the most polarizing moves of the 2026 offseason.
They signed Christian Watson to a four-year, $110.5 million extension, prompting criticism due to his lack of production and injury-proneness. However, the deal only included $31 million guaranteed, so it wasn't actually that bad.
Notably, that's not the only big-time deal general manager Brian Gutekunst will get done this offseason.
According to Packers insider Easton Butler, they're also working on long-term contracts with TE Tucker Kraft and DT Devonte Wyatt.
“The Packers are currently working on extensions for TE Tucker Kraft and DT Devonte Wyatt,” Butler shared on X. “The current goal is for Kraft’s extension to be done before camp, and Wyatt’s before Week 1.”
Kraft and Wyatt are both entering the final year of their rookie contracts.
The third-round tight end was in the midst of a breakout season in 2025, establishing himself as Jordan Love's most reliable target before a season-ending ACL injury after just nine games.
As for Wyatt, he's fresh years removed from being the No. 28 pick. A hard-hitting interior defender, he also dealt with some injuries last season, playing in just 10 games due to a broken fibula and an ankle injury.
Nevertheless, the Packers clearly won't let health issues scare them from signing their stars, as Watson has missed 20 games in four years, and they still made him the undisputed WR1 with this big-time extension.
