Happy 75th birthday to six-time Pro Bowler, two-time All-Pro, 1982 Offensive Rookie of the Year and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 1993, Dan Fouts!
After playing his college football at Oregon, Fouts was selected in the third round of the 1973 NFL Draft by the then-San Diego Chargers. He’d spend his entire career with the Chargers and was the most statistically productive signal-caller in franchise history until one Philip Rivers came along. He racked up 43,040 yards and 254 touchdowns in his 15-year career, leading the NFL in passing yards in four-straight campaigns from 1979-92. He also led the league in passing-TDs in 1982 en route to his lone Offensive Player of the Year award.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. How many of the players to be named AP Offensive Player of the Year since 1972 can you name in six minutes?
Good luck!
