Gunnar Henderson joins Orioles legends with monumental HR

Continuously proving to be a player for the Baltimore Orioles to keep building around, Gunnar Henderson reached a major career milestone on Friday night. He even made franchise history in the process.

In the midst of his fifth MLB season, Henderson blasted his 100th career home run as part of the Orioles' 7-3 win over the San Diego Padres

And with a two-out solo shot in the fourth inning, Henderson became the fifth player to ever hit 100 or more home runs with the Orioles before his 25th birthday.

Just a couple of weeks before turning 25 (June 29), Henderson etched his name next to Manny Machado, who was ironically on the opposing side during the monumental moment, Eddie Murray, Boog Powell and Cal Ripken Jr. in Baltimore lore.

Henderson now has 14 home runs with 33 RBI on the season; granted, his 2026 slash line shows a dip from where he's been in recent years. Only hitting .226 in 70 games and 292 at-bats, Henderson also carries a pedestrian .293 OBP and a .421 slug.

Henderson's power dipped last season after setting career-highs in 2024

In 2025, he hit just 17 home runs with 68 RBI, but posted a .274 average with a .349 OBP. He also stole 30 bases.

Henderson enjoyed his best season in 2024, setting career-highs with 37 homers, 92 RBIs, 177 hits and 78 walks while hitting .281 with a .364 OBP. He was named an All-Star for the first time.

The 2023 American League Rookie of the Year and Silver Slugger winner now has 100 home runs, 293 RBIs, 574 hits, a .264 cumulative batting average and even 68 stolen bases to this point in his still young career.
