Toronto Blue Jays fans had more than just a win to cheer about on Tuesday night. George Springer achieved a major personal milestone during the Blue Jays' 6-1 victory over the Red Sox in Boston.
In the top of the ninth on his final at-bat of the game, Springer absolutely crushed a 1-0 pitch with one runner aboard.
The ball went well over Fenway Park's "Green Monster" wall in deep left field, awarding Springer his seventh home run of the season and, more importantly, the 300th of his career.
Springer's two-run shot made him 2-for-3 with the home run, three total RBI, one run scored and a walk on the day.
And now after a calm start to the season power wise, Springer has two home runs in his last four games. His two recent homers are his only of the month as he's shy of the torrid pace he was on last season. Springer hit 32, his highest total since 2019, to help the Blue Jays win the American League pennant in 2025.

But following his 32 homers, 84 RBI and a slash line of .309/.399/.560 slug season in 2025, Springer is hitting just .215 with a .309 OBP and a .374 slug in 51 games and 195 at-bats so far in 2026. He has only 19 RBI and 42 hits as well.
Overall in 13 years between time with the Houston Astros and Blue Jays, Springer has 300 home runs, 815 RBI and a .265 cumulative batting average to go along with a resume highlighted by four All-Star selections, three Silver Slugger awards and being named the 2017 World Series MVP.
Maybe crossing the 300-homer threshold will springboard Springer into getting back to his normal standards — something the Blue Jays desperately need.
Despite a series-opening win against a last-place opponent, Toronto is three games below .500 as a team at 35-38 and in third place in the American League East.
