For a rarity in professional sports today, veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan will spend his entire career with one team. Jordan agreed to finish his career in the same place he's played for the last 15 seasons: New Orleans.
Jordan, 36, agreed to a new "incentive-laden" one-year deal with the Saints on Tuesday afternoon. His return for a 16th season in New Orleans comes as he also announced 2026 will be the final year of his playing career.
And while becoming a franchise staple and completing a full career all with the Saints may be the headline, Jordan enjoyed a resurgence in 2025 that makes his signing an impactful one for the current team.
Known for being reliable, Jordan played in every game for the third season in a row. However, his 10.5 sacks were his highest single-season total since 2021 and the seventh time he reached double digits.
Jordan also recorded 47 total tackles, the most he registered in any of the last three seasons. His 32 solo tackles were his best since 2022, too.

With 763 combined tackles and 132 sacks, Jordan will now look to finish his chapter on the field by wrapping up his case for eventual enshrinement in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Jordan's presence alone will help the team as the Saints embark on year two with Kellen Moore as head coach and hope to build the franchise back up to being a perennial playoff contender. After going 6-11 in 2025, New Orleans will need to spark a big turnaround to allow Jordan, drafted by the Saints in the first round in 2011 out of California, to appear in the postseason for the first time since 2020.
