Bryson DeChambeau's run of miserable majors continues at U.S. Open with yet another missed cut

The lights are starting to get a little too bright when it comes to Bryson DeChambeau and the majors on the PGA Tour.

After finishing five-over par through the first two rounds of the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills, DeChambeau missed the cut and will not be playing on the weekend.

It continues what has been an absolutely abysmal run of performances for him at major tournaments over the past few years.

Bryson DeChambeau misses cut at third straight major

For the first time in his professional career, DeChambeau has now missed the cut at three consecutive PGA majors.

The streak began with a 150, six-over par, at the Masters, and continued with a 147, seven-over, at the PGA Championship.

Through the first two rounds at Shinnecock, he shot 145 and was five-over, missing the cut by one stroke.

This is also the second consecutive U.S. Open where he has missed the cut, failing to reach the weekend at Oakmont during the 2025 Open.

He has won two career majors, both the U.S. Open in 2020 and 2024, but has missed the cut in at least one major in every year going back to 2021.

That includes four of his past five, and five of his past eight.

DeChambeau did not speak to the media on Friday.

While his run of PGA Tour majors has been abysmal, he has had some success on the LIV Golf tour this year, winning two tournaments. It simply has not translated over to the biggest stage at the majors.
