Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy are inarguably the two best golfers on the planet right now, but neither PGA Tour superstar is the highest-paid player in 2026. According to Forbes, LIV Golf star Jon Rahm is the highest-paid golfer in the world for the third consecutive year.
It's not particularly close, either.
Even though Rahm didn't win a major championship in the last year, he still raked in $111 million in the last 12 months. A whopping $101 million came from on-course earnings, as Rahm earned an estimated $50 million from his LIV Golf contract and tacked on $18 million in bonuses by winning the individual championship in 2025 and two tournaments in 2026. The Spaniard has earned more than $400 million on LIV Golf since joining the rival league in 2024.
In addition to his on-course earnings, Rahm also added $10 million from brand partnerships, appearance fees and licensing income, per Forbes.
Second on the list is Scheffler, who earned $79 million in the last 12 months. Only $49 million of that total came from on-course earnings. The 29-year-old has won only one PGA Tour event in 12 starts this year, which is disappointing by his sky-high standards. An impressive $30 million of Scheffler's earnings came from off-course brand deals with Nike, TaylorMade and others.

That pursuit comes alongside a push toward the top of the PGA Tour’s career earnings list:
• Tiger Woods: $120.99M
• Rory McIlroy: $115.97M
• Scottie Scheffler: $111.49M
Next up is McIlroy, who banked $77 million in the last 12 months. The Northern Irishman has won only two tournaments since his first Masters triumph in 2025, but his total is bolstered by his $50 million in off-course earnings. No other golfer has banked more than $45 million in off-course earnings in the last year.
Bryson DeChambeau, who ranks fourth on the list with $52 million in earnings, would be closer to Rahm if his YouTube earnings counted toward his total. The two-time major champion has nearly 3 million subscribers on his YouTube channel, and he generates millions of views on most of his videos. Aside from his online content, DeChambeau earned $42 million on the course and $10 million off the course in the last year.
Fifth on the list is Tiger Woods, who hasn't teed it up in a professional golf tournament since the 2024 Open Championship. The 50-year-old still banked $1 million in on-course earnings thanks to his second-place finish in the TGL golf league with Jupiter Golf Links. The rest of his $46 million in earnings came from off-course brand deals.
Rahm has dominated the top spot for the last three years, but that streak could end if LIV Golf loses its funding from Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund.
