Indiana Fever announce encouraging Caitlin Clark injury update before Mercury game

Caitlin Clark has already surpassed the 13 games she played for the Indiana Fever last season.

The two-time WNBA All-Star battled through multiple soft tissue injuries in 2025. Ultimately, it was a groin strain that forced the Fever to shut her down for the remainder of the campaign.

Clark, however, has been healthy this season. She has missed just one out of the Fever’s 17 games this season.

The 6-foot guard is currently averaging a career-best 21.3 points on 42.6% shooting, 4.3 rebounds and  8.2 assists. She is also knocking down 2.6 triples per game on a 33.1% clip.

It has been an up-and-down campaign for Indiana thus far, though. They have a 10-7 record and are sixth in the WNBA standings.

Indiana Fever announce Caitlin Clark’s status for Mercury game

The Fever are back in action on Wednesday for a rematch against the Phoenix Mercury. These two teams battled it out in a feisty affair on Monday, with Indiana coming out on top, 86-77. Indiana will look to make it back-to-back wins on Wednesday at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

The good news for the Fever is that Clark should be good to go. She has been listed on the injury report with a back issue, but the team has announced that she is probable to play.

It is important to note that this same back injury forced Clark to sit out on May 20 against the Portland Fire. She was a late scratch for that matchup, which led the WNBA to issue a warning to the Fever for not disclosing the injury in a timely manner.

Since then, the Fever have included the former Iowa Hawkeyes star in every single injury report. This marks the 13th straight game that Clark has been listed on the injury report. She has consistently been given the probable tag, and she has played in each game.

Barring any unforeseen setbacks, Clark should be on the floor for the 7:30 p.m. ET tipoff on Wednesday night.
