The Miami Hurricanes and head coach Mario Cristobal had a great day on the recruiting trail on Wednesday, though they won't be able to reap the rewards of that for a few years.
Miami brought in two recruits who are related to each other as cousins, and both are expected to be big-time additions for the Hurricanes.
Most notable was the commitment for 2028 four-star offensive tackle Kweli Fielder. Fielder, from Carrolton, Georgia, is the No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the 2028 class. Checking in at 6-foot-4, 310 pounds as a rising junior in high school, he has a ton of potential coming along to Miami with him.
Florida, Georgia, LSU, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Texas were also in the running for Fielder, but he liked the opportunity he was presented at Miami.
“Miami felt like home since going down twice in June. It was a special moment for my mom and I. The relationships I built with the coaches, the culture and the vision they have for me made it the right choice,” Fielder told Rivals regarding his decision.

Alongside Fielder, his cousin, class of 2029 quarterback CJ Cypher, decided to make a very early commitment to Miami.
As a rising sophomore in high school, he's not yet ranked, but Cypher is expected to be one of the top quarterbacks in the country.
“What stands out most about Miami is the people and the culture. From the first time I stepped on campus, I felt the energy from the coaches, the players, and the fan base. Coach Shannon Dawson and Coach Mario Cristobal have built something special, and the relationships I’ve built with them made Miami feel like home,” Cypher said to Rivals.

Back to Fielder, the star offensive tackle recruit, he's looking forward to the opportunity to play alongside his family.
“CJ is not only my cousin, he’s one of my best friends. We push each other and having the opportunity to continue playing together at the next level is a blessing,” Fielder said. “I’m excited to keep competing alongside him and making more memories together.”
The sentiment was similar with the 2029 quarterback.
“Me and Kweli have been playing together for a long time, and being able to continue that journey at a place like Miami means a lot,” Cypher said. “We push each other every day and bring the best out of each other. Having someone you trust and have that chemistry with going into college is special, and I’m excited for what we can accomplish together at Miami.”
Fielder is Miami's second 2028 commitment, joining three-star quarterback Knox Annis. Not surprisingly, Cypher is Miami's first 2029 commit.
