12 players in NBA history have appeared in a game in 20 different seasons. But with Al Horford announcing his return to the Golden State Warriors for the 2026-27 campaign, that club will gain at least one new member.
“It’s hard to believe. I’m very grateful. It’s just so hard to be in this league for that many years. There’s a lot of commitment, a lot of sacrifice and time,” he told ESPN.
“I still feel like I’m able to contribute and have an impact on a team.”
Horford is expected to decline his $6 million option for next year and instead sign a two-year, $14M contract to remain in Golden State once free agency opens. The former Florida Gator – who turned 40 on June 3 – averaged 8.3 points and 4.9 rebounds-per-game in 45 contests last season. After Jimmy Butler went down for the season with a torn ACL, the Warriors once again found themselves in the Play-In Tournament and missing the playoffs altogether for the second time in three seasons.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Before Horford was one of the longest-tenured players in NBA history, he was a two-time national champion and third-overall NBA Draft pick way back in 2007. With that being said, can you name the third-overall pick in every NBA Draft of the Lottery Era (since 1985)?
Good luck!
