Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Jacob "The Miz" Misiorowski has continued to challenge velocity records by throwing the fastest pitch by a starting pitcher in MLB history (105.5 mph fastball).
This was against the Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong (PCA) on Friday night. PCA fouled a fastball on an 0-2 count from the 24-year-old in the top of the first inning. Misiorowski is having a remarkable season for the Brewers and is the favorite to win the NL Cy Young Award this season.
He has continued to unleash his velocity dominance with his fastball now reaching a new peak from his previous Statcast-era record of a remarkable 104.5 mph.
The 24-year-old has not wasted any time unloading his masterful dominance on the mound this season. Just when we think he has reached a new high with his velocity, he continues to beat his own records. Throwing historic pitches has just become routine for the dominant right-handed starter.

His 105.5 heater is tied for the third-fastest pitch ever thrown by any pitcher in MLB history. Aroldis Chapman holds the all-time MLB record of 105.8 mph with his fastball as relief pitchers are usually capable of producing higher speeds because they pitch fewer frames.
But Misiorowski has unquestionably raised the stakes for what's possible for a starting pitcher to unload on the mound.
He has been absolutely electric, and PCA was thrown a continuous sequence of 100+ mph heaters in his at-bat in the first inning (103.1 mph, 104.3 mph, 105.5 mph, 102.1 mph, 103.6 mph).
But then Misiorowski fooled Armstrong with a 90.5 mph curveball and ended up striking him out. 105.5 mph is also the fastest pitch in MLB this season, and it has only been hit three times in the Statcast era.
