The Golden State Warriors are keeping Al Horford in town, and they're also working on a new deal with Kristaps Porzingis.
Beyond that, they're working on some reinforcements to pair with rookie first-round pick Yaxel Lendeborg and give Stephen Curry a helping hand.
They've been tangled up in trade rumors for Kawhi Leonard and may pursue LeBron James in free agency. In the meantime, Jimmy Butler, their best reinforcement — and potential trade piece — continues to work on his rehab from an ACL injury.
Despite the speculation, Butler is still fully committed to the Warriors. When asked about his expectations for the upcoming season, he had but one reason to love their chances: Stephen Curry.
“We got Steph on our team? (expletive), we’re going to win,” Butler said, per NBC Sports' Dalton Johnson. “I’m a firm believer that Steph is one of the greatest players to ever play this game. His talent is game-changing alone. You legitimately always have a chance when Steph is on the floor, no matter the time – fourth quarter, second quarter, overtime – so he, we, are expected to win at a high level, and I think we are going to do that.”
The Warriors had won 12 of 16 games with Curry and Butler on the court before the star forward suffered a season-ending injury.
He's fully expected to be back to full strength by training camp, and he recently confirmed to the media that he's getting closer to running again:
“I would hope, for me, a month and a half, maybe, probably. I would hope,” Butler said (h/t Anthony Slater). “We’ve been making some incredible progress.”
Jimmy Butler gives an update on his ACL rehab. Said he believes he is a month and a half from running. Believes he’s able to dunk jumping off his left foot but isn’t supposed to land on right foot.

The Warriors are expected to be one of the most aggressive teams in the offseason, knowing that Curry's championship window might shut soon.
As such, Butler and Draymond Green might be the team's primary trade asset, given their steep salaries and age.
But even if they don't manage to land another big name, this group might be good enough to go the distance if they manage to stay healthy — which is a big "if."
