White Sox make franchise history with series win over Royals

The Chicago White Sox have continued to perform like rock stars, providing a competitive edge in the AL with their impressive turnaround by erasing their 102-loss season in 2025.

For the first time in franchise history, they have won 10 consecutive series at home. They also recorded their seventh walk-off win by a seventh different White Sox player, in a 2-1 victory against the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.

They have been an entertaining team to watch earlier this month and took a series victory away from the powerhouse Los Angeles Dodgers. As the feel-good underdogs in the league, they lead the AL Central with a 43-38 record and rank second in the majors in home runs (115).

Their fearless youth have provided the South Side breakout performances from guys such as Miguel Vargas, Davis Martin, Grant Taylor, Colson Montgomery and Sam Antonacci, etc.

White Sox continue to chase success in 2026

The White Sox's turnaround was on full display against the Royals in the first game of the series, where they recorded 22 runs on Friday night. They haven't scored that many runs in a single game since 1970, showcasing historic offense for MLB's Cinderella team this season.

The White Sox have illustrated their power surge all season, crushing 110 home runs across the first half of the season.  Drastically improving from a historically awful 121-loss campaign in 2024, they have overhauled their roster to transform themselves into legitimate contenders this season.

Even without rookie sensation Munetaka Murakami, the White Sox have been playing some solid baseball. This means that their performance in the second-half of the season could be even stronger, with Murakami likely returning to the roster before the All-Star break in mid-July.

Overall, the vibe has become electric on the South Side, who are pushing to make October baseball a reality and continue to get the job done and build magic for a team that recorded the most losses in a season in 2024 (121).
