Red hot like the weather across the country, Junior Caminero hit another home run on Friday as part of a Tampa Bay Rays' win to open up the holiday weekend.
Connecting on a solo shot as the Rays beat the Houston Astros 3-1, Caminero crushed what would become the game-winning home run with the game tied in the seventh inning.
But Caminero's home run is more significant than being a single long ball by itself. He now has 10 home runs in his last 10 games and has at least one in four-straight series.
Ironically, Caminero's most recent home run came after failing to leave the ballpark on Thursday when Tampa Bay completed a three-game sweep of the Kansas City Royals. However, he did blast two home runs and drive in five runs in the first two games of the series.
Caminero even approached an MLB record at one point during his power surge. He homered in six consecutive games, two shy of tying the record shared by Dale Long, current Philadelphia Phillies manager Don Mattingly and Ken Griffey Jr., who each hit home runs in eight games in a row.

Caminero has fueled a nine-game win streak for the Rays, placing them at 52-33 and four up on the New York Yankees for the lead in the American League East. His most potent recent game came on June 25 - he slugged three home runs with six RBIs in a 13-2 win over the Royals.
On pace to set new career-highs across the board, Caminero has 25 home runs through 85 games and 323 at-bats. He has 55 RBIs and is slugging .557 with a .376 OBP and a .288 batting average.
Caminero broke out as an All-Star for the first time last season in his third MLB year, recording 45 home runs with 110 RBIs and 28 doubles in 154 games and 602 at-bats.
