Will this be a breakout year for Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants? New head coach John Harbaugh is certainly doing everything in his power to make sure that's exactly what happens.
Harbaugh doesn't have it easy. He's trying to take a franchise with a 4-13 record to Super Bowl status. Well, maybe not Super Bowl status, but at least making it to the playoffs.
The heartbeat of any team is its quarterback, and that's why Dart's success is so important to Harbaugh and this franchise. If Dart stays healthy and can soar in 2026, that'll help take the Giants to the postseason. Now, Dart is getting early buzz ahead of the Harbaugh era of the Giants.
Bryan DeArdo of CBS Sports released a quarterback ranking on Wednesday, and in it, Dart is named a "promising prospect" going into the new season. To make his "promising prospect" list, quarterbacks have to show "legitimate reasons to believe" that they "could be in line to do something special this fall," and that's exactly what Dart has done.
"While he's not Lamar Jackson, Dart nonetheless has impressive physical gifts and equally impressive determination," DeArdo states in the piece. John Harbaugh is again tasked with helping his quarterback maximize his talent while also helping him avoid taking unnecessary hits, which has been Dart's Achilles heel."
So, he's not over the top about Dart quite yet, but DeArdo realizes that working with Harbaugh could take Dart's game to the next level.
