Zane Smith calls Carson Hocevar a 'coward' among other insults

Zane Smith and Carson Hocevar tangled at Chicagoland Speedway on July 5, and it's safe to say the two won't be exchanging pleasantries this weekend at Atlanta.

On Thursday's episode of "Bussin' With The Boys," Smith made it clear he doesn't harbor much goodwill toward Hocevar, who he spun at Chicagoland.

Zane Smith calls out Carson Hocevar

During a segment of the show where he and fellow NASCAR Cup Series driver Riley Herbst were asked to describe their peers, Smith called Hocevar a "bum [expletive]" before expanding on his dislike of the Spire Motorsports driver.

"His fans are the worst part," Smith said. "Have you ever seen the South Park huge guy that's typing on the keyboard? Those are like all of [his] fans."

Smith explained that he believes part of Hocevar's personality is an "act."

"A lot of it's an act to get people to buy in on it," Smith said. "He'll try to talk to you after saying, 'I don't talk to anybody out there.' He's full of [expletive]. He tries to be your buddy and then will go and screw you. It's like, don't talk to me in the first place.

"I don't like you, and we're going to eventually have a run-in together. He'll just put us both in a bad spot to where it's costing us lap time. That part gets frustrating."

Smith also isn't fond of Hocevar's carefree attitude toward his aggressive driving, especially when it comes to how he reacts on social media.

"If you're going to be the guy hiding behind social media, that's a coward in my opinion," Smith said. "Act that way in person. Say that to my face. Don't be one way in-person and then hide behind your phone."

Hocevar will certainly have an opportunity to be the center of attention again in Sunday's Cup race at Atlanta, a track where he caused a late-race crash with Christopher Bell on Feb. 22 before finishing fourth.
