Once again, all eyes in the NBA are set on LeBron James.
At the ripe age of 41 years and after 23 seasons at the highest level, the future Hall of Famer is still the biggest fish in free agency.
As such, the rest of mortals and peasants will simply have to wait until he puts pen to paper with a new team to find deals of their own.
According to NBA insider Jake Fischer, that's the case with James Harden, who is expected to return to the Cleveland Cavaliers but won't sign until James makes up his mind.
“James Harden has been a free agent since he opted out of his roughly $43 million player option for this season. And I continue to hear that he is willing and able to be patient to see what happens with LeBron before finalizing his own deal,” Fischer said.
Harden's return to Cleveland has been an open secret since his arrival near last season's trade deadline.
The Cavaliers were one of the few teams willing to give him a multi-year deal after last season, and they didn't change their stance after another dreadful string of postseason performances.
Of course, Harden is a free agent, so he can also change his mind at the eleventh hour and take his talents elsewhere if James doesn't head back home, though that sounds unlikely.
The Cavaliers are reportedly one of the front-runners to sign James to what will most likely be his final contract.
In the meantime, everybody else has to sit and wait.
