Ex-Heat teammates Tyler Herro, Bam Adebayo reportedly got into physical altercation

The NBA offseason never takes a break, and the chaos isn't always about transactions and roster movement. Sometimes new rivalries and individual beefs start to form (especially in the wake of transactions and roster movement).

That may be unfolding between former Miami Heat teammates Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo as the two reportedly involved in a physical altercation in Las Vegas on Friday.

According to a report from ESPN's Sham Charania on Friday, Herro and Adebayo were involved in a physical confrontation at a practice court at a Las Vegas hotel. Adebayo reportedly struck Herro in the face area during the altercation.

The source was apparently a social media post that Herro made following his trade to the Milwaukee Bucks as part of the Giannis Antetokounmpo blockbuster.

Herro posted a graphic on Instagram featuring the worst field-goal percentages from mid-range, featuring both Adebayo and Antetokounmpo.

The two had been teammates with the Heat since the start of the 2019-20 season when Herro joined the team as the No. 13 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft.

Adebayo was the No. 14 overall pick by the Heat during the 2017 NBA Draft.

There now appears to be some serious beef between the two, and it is almost certainly going to carry over to the court in the regular season.

The 2026-27 NBA schedule has not yet been released and is expected to come out in August. You should probably circle the first date between the Bucks and Heat as well as any meeting after that.

While Herro's social media post likely came across as petty, and was definitely a shot at his former team, there is a legitimate basketball concern about how well the Antetokounmpo-Adebayo pairing will work given how similar their games are and where they both excel. Neither player is a three-point threat, and both do their best work driving to the basket and in the paint.

Still, they are both top players and the Heat have one of the NBA's best coaches in Erik Spoelstra. There is a good chance they figure out a way to make it work, no matter what their mid-range field-goal percentages are.
