Curt Cignetti had the most incredible line about repeating as champions

Indiana Hoosiers coach Curt Cignetti certainly has not been changed by the team’s success. If anything, he is doubling down on it.

Cignetti was a guest on the “Pardon My Take” podcast, and was asked by co-host PFT Commenter how the Hoosiers are handling the fact that they are no longer the scrappy underdog and will instead have a target on their backs in 2026. Without missing a beat, Cignetti responded with an epic one-liner.

“I bought a bigger gun,” Cignetti said.

Cignetti established himself very early on as one of the best quotes in college football, and that has only continued as he has built Indiana into a national champion. Of course, the fact that he has been able to back up the big talk is essential, but he obviously has not lost any confidence in himself or his program.

The Hoosiers are coming off a 16-0 season, but many are eager to see if they can maintain that success. That is particularly true now that Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza has left for the NFL, with TCU transfer Josh Hoover in line to replace him.

Cignetti has even been willing to call out rival conferences in no uncertain terms this week. He is clearly ready for the upcoming season.
