Lions sign former Pro Bowl LB Devin White ahead of 2026 season

The Detroit Lions aren't done shaping this roster yet. Not even close.

On Saturday, general manager Brad Holmes made a signing. Nothing like a weekend signing, right? It was a big one, too. The team inked a former Pro Bowler.

First, the news broke with a report from ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter. He took to X to share that the Lions have officially signed Pro Bowl linebacker Devin White to their roster.

Later, the Lions confirmed the news, taking to social media to announce that he's now part of their roster. He's entering his eighth NFL season.

Dan Campbell and Lions make key signing before 2026 season

White is a veteran linebacker and a former Pro Bowler. He inked a free-agent contract with the Lions on Saturday, per the team.

White was a 2019 first-round pick of the Buccaneers, and he's jumped between teams for the past two seasons. His most recent team was the Las Vegas Raiders. With them, during the 2025 season, he started in 17 games and racked up 174 tackles, 2.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one interception.

For his entire NFL career, White has notched 759 tackles, 25.5 sacks, eight fumble recoveries, 24 passes defended and seven forced fumbles, as well as four interceptions. White will join first-team All-Pro linebacker Jack Campbell in the lineup.

So, the Lions are trying to come back after a tough season, where they finished last in the NFC North. White may help them do it.
