Ohio State WR commit Jett Harrison signs deal with New Balance at 16

Jett Harrison is only 16 years old, but he's already facing some major expectations as a wide receiver prospect.

Harrison comes from an elite family of wide receivers, so it makes sense. His father is NFL Hall of Famer Marvin Harrison. His brother is Marvin Harrison Jr., who was selected No. 4 overall in the 2024 NFL Draft after having a great college career with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

In early July, the younger Harrison committed to Ohio State in what was another big moment on the recruiting trail for Ryan Day and the Buckeyes. A five-star recruit, Jett Harrison is ranked as the No. 2 wide receiver in the 2028 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.

That was also a big moment for Jett Harrison, a soon-to-be junior for St. Joseph's Prep High School in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Jett Harrison signs NIL deal with New Balance

He added another big one to the Rolodex on Wednesday when it was announced that he signed an NIL deal with New Balance. In fact, all the Harrisons were involved.

There was a time not too long ago when a 16-year-old junior in high school signing with one of the biggest brands in the world would have seemed otherworldly.

Heck, even LeBron James had to wait until he declared for the NBA Draft before signing with Nike at 18-years old.

That's just the times we are in, though. Jett Harrison may never even play a down in college football, but he's already (presumably) making good money off the game.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. Some would say it's not a good thing, either, though.
