Pete Crow-Armstrong steals another win for the Cubs

When trailing 2-0 with two outs and two strikes in the bottom of the ninth inning, it appeared the Chicago Cubs were headed for a disappointing shutout loss.

Fast forward two innings later and it was MVP candidate Pete-Crow Armstrong quite literally stealing the game-winning run for the Cubs in the bottom of the 11th inning and giving Chicago a 3-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

PCA's speed changes the game

Crow-Armstrong delivered what looked to be the game-winning hit to begin the bottom of the 11th inning, but winning run Carson Kelly was thrown out at the plate.

An important thing to note on the play was Crow-Armstrong advancing to second on the throw home, setting up for what was to come just two batters later.

On the first pitch to Michael Busch, Crow-Armstrong made a mad dash to attempt to steal third base. Not only was he successful, but the throw got into left field, allowing PCA to streak home and send Wrigley Field into a frenzy.

The comeback for Chicago was its MLB-leading 11th walk-off win this season.

Pete Crow-Armstrong has a legitimate MVP case

Barring a late season cold streak, Crow-Armstrong is going to post a 30-homer, 30 stolen base season for the second consecutive season.

That combined with his otherworldly defense and excellent hitting stats and he has every metric needed to be considered a legit NL MVP favorite.

A hot stretch to end the season for PCA combined with a bit of a slump from frontrunner Shohei Ohtani and the Cubs may have their first MVP since Kris Bryant in 2016.
