Lynx's Kayla McBride sets WNBA record in win over Wings

Those who have played the video game "NBA Jam" know that when a player hits three consecutive shots on three straight possessions, they catch on fire. 

The basketball in the game subsequently turns into a blazing fireball that burns the net whenever a player scores. It's an infuriating feeling for the opponent who's trying to stop said player. The Dallas Wings must have experienced a similar emotion when they were watching Minnesota Lynx guard Kayla McBride torch their defense in Sunday's contest at Target Center in Minneapolis.

McBride made a WNBA record 10 threes on 14 attempts from downtown in Sunday's game. The guard finished with a career-high 43 points on 16-of-21 shooting from the field, powering Minnesota to a 103-90 win.

The previous mark was nine made threes, shared by six players: Toronto Tempo guard Marina Mabrey, Las Vegas Aces guard Chelsea Gray, Atlanta Dream guard Rhyne Howard, Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale, Aces guard Jewell Loyd and Indiana Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell. Mabrey and Howard have done so twice. McBride's previous career high was eight made threes.
