Angels star Mike Trout's latest HR demonstrates consistency in career

In the midst of another tough season for the Los Angeles Angels, Mike Trout has still continuously provided reminders of his greatness.

And to that end, he reached a milestone on Monday night that embodies what it means to be consistent.

In his first at-bat of the Angels' series opener of their four-game set with the Texas Rangers, Trout crushed a ball to deep left-center. His solo shot was his 20th home run of the season, hitting at least 20 in back-to-back years after falling shy due to injuries in both 2023 and 2024.

But beyond getting to 20 in back-to-back seasons after an uncharacteristic break, Trout has now connected on at least that many home runs in a season 11 times in his career.

Trout's 11 seasons with 20 or more home runs are three more than anyone in Angels history.

Trout is on pace to shatter his 2025 total

As for 2026, Trout got to No. 20 in his 100th game played, as he's on pace to surpass another milestone. He's on track to finish with over 30 home runs, which would then give him eight years with at least 30. He's also seven away from beating last season's mark of 26, a number he recorded in 130 games.

In addition to his 20 home runs, Trout has 42 RBI and 67 runs scored, although he entered Monday's game hitting only .235 with a .380 OBP and a .440 slug, all way below his career slash line.

Trout's numbers would be even greater if not for his many injuries

While injuries have robbed the 35-year-old Trout of an opportunity at even greater overall numbers, Trout owns 424 career home runs and 1,060 RBI in the middle of his 16th season.

But as is always the story associated with Trout, a 12-time All-Star and three-time MVP, he's adding to his personal statistics for a team headed nowhere.

His final numbers might be in doubt, but the fact that Trout, who has only appeared in one postseason his entire career, will be home in October and miss the playoffs again is for certain.
