Happy 35th birthday to 12-time MLB All-Star, nine-time Silver Slugger, three-time American League MVP and two-time All-Star Game MVP, Mike Trout!
Trout was a first-round MLB Draft pick in 2009, and by the time he made his Big League debut in 2011 was one of the top prospects in all of baseball. Individually, he’s lived up to the billing for the most part.
While injuries have derailed him at times, he’s led all MLB in runs three times, stolen bases once and eclipsed 30 home runs six times in his career. He led baseball in Wins Above Replacement (WAR) four times from 2012-16 and led the A.L. in that category in each of those seasons.
Despite his personal excellence, the Angels have made the MLB Playoffs just one time in his Hall of Fame career, getting swept by the Kansas City Royals in the 2014 ALDS. Sitting at 43-71 and last place in the A.L. West, that won’t be changing this season either.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Trout is one of 15 players to hit 400 home runs and steal 200 bases in their MLB career. How many of those players can you name in five minutes?
Good luck!
