Giants told to part ways with Jaxson Dart target before new season

The New York Giants brought on a lot of new players in the 2026 NFL Draft and offseason. Head coach John Harbaugh wanted to make a splash in his first months with the team, and he did just that.

The Giants added a handful of fresh faces to their roster for the 2026 season in free-agency moves and trades, including wide receiver Darnell Mooney, linebacker Tremaine Edmunds, tight end Isaiah Likely and cornerback David Long Jr. They also have newbies from the draft, such as linebacker Arvell Reese.

So, do they have too much talent? While one can never have too much talent, there's one player the Giants could stand to part with during the offseason and get something in return.

Kristopher Knox of Bleacher Report is urging the Giants to trade wideout Jalin Hyatt. He's been with the team since 2023, and as a wide receiver, he, of course, works with quarterback Jaxson Dart.

In the piece, Knox notes that when it comes to wideouts, "even with No. 1 option Malik Nabers still recovering from a torn ACL, though, that means that New York has a surplus of pass-catchers."

There are a lot of wide receivers on this roster and only 53 spots.

"There's simply no way that Nabers, Darius Slayton, Calvin Austin III, Odell Beckham Jr., Isaiah Hodgins, Darnell Mooney, Braxton Berrios, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Ryan Miller, Beaux Collins, Jalin Hyatt and rookie third-rounder Malachi Fields all make the 53-player roster," Knox adds.

In 2023 as a rookie, Hyatt had 23 catches for 373 yards and a 16.2 yards per catch average. He hasn't seen much playing time yet, but if he's traded, another team could certainly use his talents more than the Giants.
