Caitlin Clark calls out Fever fans after latest incident: 'Made me a little sick'

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever secured a crucial 102-96 win over the New York Liberty on Tuesday night.

However, basketball wasn't the most important part of the evening, at least to some in attendance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Fever coach Stephanie White was met with boos and jeers during introductions, with some Fever fans seemingly angry at her for dismissing Sophie Cunningham's comments after her run-in with DiJonai Carrington.

That's why, after the win, Clark made it loud and clear that Fever players rallied behind their coach and wouldn't tolerate that type of behavior.

"I hated that our fans booed her before the game. That made me a little sick, to be honest. We're going to ride for her, and we're always going to have her back," Clark said, per Alexa Philippou.

Cunningham has been tangled up in the biggest controversy in the league this season, and while White doesn't necessarily agree with her views, she resented the notion that she didn't support her players.

"When you have a chance to watch that over and over and over on replay, you can see that. I didn't have that in real time. I take personally any suggestions that I don't a 100% always have my players' back. I ride with them 10 toes down all the time, all the time! They know that," White said before the game.
