Caitlin Clark has taken the WNBA by storm since she entered the league as the No. 1 overall pick by the Indiana Fever in 2024. She has showcased her elite skill set, often delivering historic performances. The team announced on Wednesday that the superstar guard has once again rewritten the history books the previous day.

Clark produced 22 points, four rebounds, 10 assists and a highlight reel play against the New York Liberty. She and Kelsey Mitchell, who recorded 28 points, three rebounds and three assists, led the Fever’s attack in its 106-92 win. They won their second straight game and have bounced back strong after suffering back-to-back defeats.

While it may appear like just another double-double for the three-time All-Star, that was not the case.

Indiana Fever: Caitlin Clark moves up career double-double games list among guards

Indiana posted on X that Clark is now third all-time among guards in WNBA history in double-doubles. She moved past Sue Bird with 29 in her career, achieving the feat in only 82 games. The Seattle Storm legend registered her 28 in 580 outings.

Clark is known for her outside shooting, particularly from beyond the arc. However, her playmaking is arguably the most underrated facet of her game. She sets her teammates up for easy baskets, adjusting to what defenses give her. This season alone, the 24-year-old already has 10 double-doubles in only 29 appearances.

Second on the list is Minnesota Lynx star Courtney Williams with 31, which she has amassed in 367 matchups. Clark has a chance to overtake her in the next few games as she is on a hot streak. She has four double-doubles in her last five outings, with her lowest assist total at eight versus the Las Vegas Aces on Thursday.

The former Iowa Hawkeyes star and the Fever will return to action on Friday against the Dallas Wings. They last faced them on opening night on May 9. Clark finished with 20 points and seven assists in the 107-104 loss and will look to avenge it with even better numbers.
