Bengals rookie leaves team, presumably to pursue acting career

With 90 players per team taking part in training camps across the league, a lot of them are going to find out in the coming weeks that professional football is not going to be their career path. Some of them will be told, in not so many words, that it is time to hang up the pads.

At least one of them seems to be taking it upon himself to pursue his next profession on his own.

The Cincinnati Bengals announced on Saturday that rookie cornerback Ceyair Wright has left the team to "pursue other opportunities," and that he will be placed on the left squad/exempt list and will not count toward the team's current 90-man roster.

It's a noteworthy move because Wright has already made a name for himself in Hollywood as an actor. And that seems to be the direction his career is taking him.

Wright was in Bengals camp as an undrafted free agent following a collegiate career at USC and Nebraska.

But while he was a star defensive back, he also started to pursue an acting career that resulted in him appearing in Space Jam: A New Legacy where he played LeBron James' son, Darius James.
