Kaden Honeycutt wins NASCAR Truck Series race at Richmond, earning long-awaited second win

It seems like TRICON Garage driver Kaden Honeycutt should have at least three or four victories in the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season, yet the 23-year-old only had one prior to Saturday's Black's Tire 250 at Richmond Raceway. 

But after a late-race caution bunched the field back up, Honeycutt, who had the best truck all afternoon, muscled his way around Grant Enfinger for the lead with 28 laps to go and left defending series champion Corey Heim in the dust to earn his second career win. 

Honeycutt swept the stages and led 225 of 250 laps en route to the win, which pulled him within points of leader Layne Riggs. Honeycutt is only the third full-time driver this season, along with Riggs and Chandler Smith, to win multiple races.

"We never give up," Honeycutt told Fox Sports. "We've had a rough last couple weeks. We're not a seventh-place, 10th-place team. We just stay on it, man. Really good confidence for me."

The victory capped a great week for Honeycutt, who announced on Aug. 10 that he and his wife are expecting their first child in February.

"There's a lot of things beside racing that matter more," Honeycutt said. "We're going to try to enjoy these moments together."

Notable results

Heim, Christian Eckes, polesitter Shane van Gisbergen and Enfinger rounded out the top five, with Jake Garcia, Smith, Tristan McKee, Gio Ruggiero and Daniel Hemric completing the top 10. 

Other notable finishers include Tyler Ankrum in 11th, Riggs in 15th, Ben Rhodes in 18th, Ty Majeski in 19th and Elliott Sadler in 32nd. Stewart Friesen finished last (36th) after hitting the wall and bringing out the final caution.

The Truck Series regular season finale is set for Aug. 22 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
