Dream star Angel Reese makes WNBA history with perfect 20-10 performance

Angel Reese made WNBA history Thursday night with a stat line unlike anything the league had seen.

Facing the Los Angeles Sparks, the Atlanta Dream forward finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists without missing a shot, becoming the first player in WNBA history to record at least 20 points, 10 rebounds and five assists on 100 percent shooting, as confirmed on X, formerly Twitter, by StatMuse.

Angel Reese can score, too

Reese went 9-for-9 from the field, adding three steals and a plus-32 rating in a line that touched nearly every category a coach could ask for. She wasn't alone in front of a career night — Rhyne Howard led Atlanta with 26 points as the Dream piled up a franchise-record 124 points in the win.

But what made Reese's night remarkable wasn't the scoring or the rebounding in isolation; it was all of it arriving together without a single missed attempt to weigh down her efficiency.

The plus-32 wasn't just a reflection of the final score. Individual plus-minus measures scoring margin during a player's minutes rather than the game's outcome, but a figure that high rarely happens by accident, and it offered further evidence of Reese's impact vs. the Sparks.

What separates this line from an ordinary big night is the shooting efficiency layered on top of the volume. Players regularly post big rebounding totals. Others rack up assists. Perfect shooting across nine attempts, especially for a frontcourt player also crashing the boards and facilitating offense, is a much tougher combination to sustain. Missing shots is part of basketball; going an entire night without one while piling up numbers across three statistical categories is the rarer feat.

Can Angel Reese be a more complete player?

Reese, a former national champion with the LSU Tigers in 2023, has built her early WNBA career on relentless rebounding and physical interior play, but Thursday's outing hinted at a more complete offensive game taking shape. The scoring came without wasted possessions. The rebounding didn't come at the expense of her passing. And the assists suggested a forward willing to create for teammates rather than simply operate as a low-post scorer.

That balance is what made Thursday's night unprecedented. No player in WNBA history had previously combined that scoring, rebounding, and playmaking threshold with a perfect shooting performance. For a league with a growing statistical record and increasingly detailed tracking, the distinction carries real weight. Thursday's showing against the Sparks stands as a new individual benchmark, one the Dream's rising star forward has authored with precision rather than volume alone.
