The New England Patriots went from having one of the most underwhelming wide receiver corps in the league to having more mouths than they can feed.
With Romeo Doubs and A.J. Brown in town, Kayshon Boutte has become the odd man out.
And since he's entering the final year of his contract, he might welcome a change of scenery.
That might happen soon. According to NFL insider Aaron Wilson, the Houston Texans reached out to the Patriots to inquire about his availability.
"The Texans have made exploratory trade calls, per league sources," Wilson shared on X. "Among the potential targets: New England Patriots wide receiver Kayshon Boutte and Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Rashod Bateman."

The Texans just lost 2025 second-round pick Jayden Higgins for the season.
He reeled in 41 receptions for 525 yards and six touchdowns as a rookie and looked poised for a breakout campaign in 2026.
Boutte, on the other hand, is coming off turning 33 receptions into 551 yards and a career-best six scores in 14 appearances for the Patriots.
He averaged a whopping 16.7 yards per catch and would give C.J. Stroud and the Texans' passing game a much-needed big-play specialist.
With Tank Dell also working his way back from a big injury, the Texans may have no choice but to give away some draft capital to find a pass catcher.
And while the Patriots don't intend to move Boutte just for the sake of it, a Day 2 selection can certainly be more than enough for them to let him go.
