Orioles’ Blaze Alexander makes a wild behind-the-back tag in rehab game

Blaze Alexander is flexing on the minor leagues right now.

The Baltimore Orioles infielder Alexander went viral in a game Tuesday for an absolutely wild tag. Alexander, who has been out since mid-July due to a hand fracture, has now progressed to playing rehab games in the minors.

On Tuesday, Alexander was manning third base for the Norfolk Tides (Triple-A affiliate of the Orioles) during a game against the Durham Bulls (Triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays). In the first inning at Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, N.C., Bulls outfielder Jacob Melton was at second base and attempted to steal third.

Alexander received the throw at an awkward angle in front of a sliding Melton. But Alexander adjusted and somehow somersaulted into a behind-the-back tag to successfully get Melton out.
