Eagles HC Nick Sirianni reacts to Makai Lemon's preseason dud

To say that Makai Lemon's career with the Philadelphia Eagles has gotten off to a rocky start wouldn't be sufficient.

The first-round pick has struggled to stay healthy, and has drawn underwhelming reviews whenever he's been on the field.

Notably, that was the case during his preseason debut, a mostly uneventful night in his team's 30-13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.

Lemon only made the rounds for negative plays, including a drop that led to an interception. Following the game, head coach Nick Sirianni was pretty blunt about Lemon's performance.

“Few opportunities, but we’ll look at it. There’s gonna be ups and downs for every player,” Sirianni said. “There’s gonna be good plays, bad plays. Obviously, he’s going to want that catch back on third down, to be able to hang onto that, not cause a turnover that basically led to points. We’ve seen some good things throughout his practices where we’re feeling good about his development. He’s got to continue to develop. Young player that we know we’re going to be able to count on this year.”
