The 2026 Sports Equinox features a loaded slate across the major sports

Sports fans will have a lot to watch on Monday, Oct. 26.

The NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL will all be in action on the same day, creating the Sports Equinox. This usually happens in October, when the NBA and NHL seasons have just begun and MLB is at the end of its postseason.

This year's edition could be particularly entertaining, with a heated NFC East rivalry, a World Series game and several intriguing NBA and NHL matchups all sharing the same day.

Rivals Collide on 'MNF'

The NFL will provide one of the night's biggest events when Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys visit Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles on "Monday Night Football."

The NFC East rivals are scheduled to kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET, giving the NFL a prime-time presence during an already crowded sports day.

The game also comes at an important point in the season. By Week 7, teams should have a much clearer idea of where they stand, making the Cowboys-Eagles matchup more than just a rivalry game.

The Eagles enter the season as the reigning Super Bowl champions, while Dallas will be looking to establish itself as a legitimate contender in the NFC.

With two of the league's most recognizable franchises facing off, the NFL should have no trouble commanding attention even with three other major leagues playing that night.

World Series Game 3 is the marquee event

Game 3 of the World Series is scheduled for Oct. 26 at 8 p.m. ET. 

The Dodgers are attempting to become the first team since the Yankees in the late 1990s and early 2000s to win three consecutive World Series titles.

That gives the baseball portion of the Sports Equinox an obvious storyline. If Los Angeles reaches the World Series again, Game 3 could feature Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers playing on one of the busiest sports nights of the year.

Nine NBA games give fans plenty of options

The NBA will have the deepest schedule of the four major leagues.

7 p.m. ET

The evening begins with the new-look Washington Wizards visiting the Charlotte Hornets. Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves visit James Harden, Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

7:30 p.m. ET

The Chicago Bulls visit Jayson Tatum and the Boston Celtics. Last year's rookie of the year, Cooper Flagg, brings the Dallas Mavericks to Miami to face a Heat team now led by Giannis Antetokounmpo. 

8 p.m. ET

Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers visit the Milwaukee Bucks. Devin Booker and the Phoenix Suns visit reigning back-to-back MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder in a rematch of the first round of last year's playoffs. 

8:30 p.m. ET

The Atlanta Hawks visit Kevin Durant and the Houston Rockets.

9 p.m. ET

Darryn Peterson and Cameron Boozer, the second and third overall picks of this summer's draft, will square off when the Memphis Grizzlies visit the Utah Jazz. 

10 p.m. ET

The night finishes with Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors visiting Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets.

NHL: Three Games

The Los Angeles Kings visit the New York Rangers at 7 p.m. ET, followed by Auston Matthews and the Toronto Maple Leafs visiting the Calgary Flames at 8:30 p.m. The Detroit Red Wings then visit Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers at 9:30 p.m.

Like the NBA, the NHL season will still be relatively young at this point. That makes the games different from the World Series and NFL matchup, where the stakes will be much more immediate, but there should still be plenty of intrigue as teams begin establishing themselves.
