Giants RB Cam Skattebo asserts there's 'no bad blood' between him and HC John Harbaugh after tense sideline interaction goes viral

Harbaugh has, for the most part, spoken positively about the RB this offseason, complimenting his energy. That said, the coach thinks he must learn how to control it. 

Harbaugh told Skattebo, who suffered a season-ending right ankle injury in October 2025, that he must avoid taking unnecessary risks after botching a backflip at Fanatics Fest in July.

Then, in late August, an unflattering report about Skattebo's relationship with defensive teammates surfaced. He reportedly rubbed some of them the wrong way after starting a fight during an Aug. 26 practice. Harbaugh addressed the controversy on Aug. 27, asking his RB to be more professional. 

"Skatt's great," the coach said. "He does bring a lot of energy. But he did get a 15-yard penalty at the end of practice. Did you notice that? That's not infectious. Well, it is infectious, actually. Infectious, in a bad way, right? Like infectious disease type of thing. We don't want that. So, we want it to be directed in a positive way."

Monitor whether Skattebo, 24, can begin channeling it positively when the Giants host the Dallas Cowboys on "Sunday Night Football" in Week 1. His relationship with Harbaugh may go from amicable to contentious if he can't.
