A.J. Brown has one word to describe Mike Vrabel's tough approach

A.J. Brown entered the league as a high-upside second-round pick, but it took him a while to become the star he is nowadays.

Mike Vrabel had plenty to do with that, not only trusting him and getting him on the field, but also pushing him to become the best version of himself.

It wasn't always easy, and they didn't always see eye to eye, but Brown liked and respected Vrabel enough to want to play for him again and force his way out of the Philadelphia Eagles.

He knows Coach Vrabel better than most of his new teammates, and in a sitdown with Devin McCourty, he explained just what made Vrabel such a different head coach.

“He's still the same guy. He’s still tough... I have a lot of respect for him. He’s holding everybody accountable, especially the best players on the team,” Brown said (h/t Josh Chambers). “And he wants us to hold the guys accountable as well.”

The superstar wideout also had an interesting word to describe Vrabel's 'no-nonsense' approach: Intimidation:

“It's the intimidation,” added Brown. “I know he means business. It's coming from a great place. He played in this league. He understands how the game is. Obviously, the game is evolving, and he knows. And he's done it.”

Of course, Brown didn't mean this in a bad way. It's not like he's a bully or a dictator, but as someone who's been there and knows that, he demands nothing but 110% percent effort from everybody in the building.

Vrabel was in the trenches like those guys, and he knows how to communicate and push them.

With great power comes great responsibility, and the Patriots are thin at multiple spots, so Brown and the stars will have to do plenty of heavy lifting to stay in Vrabel's good graces.
