Elly De La Cruz had the craziest throw to prevent Dodgers' inside-the-park HR

Elly De La Cruz came to play against the defending champions.

The Cincinnati Reds star shortstop De La Cruz had an incredible showing on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. In the third inning at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif., Dodgers right fielder Teoscar Hernandez hit a rocket to Reds center fielder Dane Myers.

Myers attempted to dive for the ball but failed to make the catch, allowing the ball to bounce all the way to the wall. It was then retrieved by left fielder JJ Bleday, who hit the relay man, De La Cruz.

Despite being deep in the outfield grass, De La Cruz fired an absolute missile to catcher Jose Trevino at the plate. The throw was on the money and ended up getting Hernandez, who was attempting an inside-the-park home run, by about 10 feet.
