The New York Giants have been hoping that star wide receiver Malik Nabers can play in Week 1, but head coach John Harbaugh sure isn’t making anything clear.
On Wednesday, Harbaugh did give an update on Nabers, although he didn’t say whether or not the Giants WR will play in the opener.
John Harbaugh said WR Malik Nabers practiced fully today. Will he play Sunday night? “We’ll find out.”

The good news is that Nabers did practice fully on Wednesday, and Harbaugh said “he’s “I think he’s ready to go,” according to Connor Hughes of SNY.
This offseason, Nabers had a full meniscus repair and an ACL injury, and it was revealed in May that he underwent a second surgery this offseason to clean things up.
That report put his status for Week 1 in doubt, although Nabers practicing is a positive sign.
Nabers suffered a torn ACL in Week 4 of the 2025 season, which ended his second year in the NFL and was a massive loss for the Giants.
As a rookie, Nabers had 109 receptions for 1,204 yards with 7 touchdowns, and everybody is hoping he can find that magic again.
The Giants begin the 2026 NFL regular season against the Dallas Cowboys, and there should be a more concrete update by that time.
